"Without Charity there is no Salvation"

All of mankind's obligations are contained in this maxim!

Charity is love in action! And "...is within the reach of everybody, from the ignorant to the wise person, from the rich to the poor; it is also quite independent of any particular belief."1

It means "Benevolence towards everyone, indulgence towards the imperfections of others and forgiveness for offenses."2 For Jesus, "charity is not restricted to alms-giving, but embraces all our relations with our fellow humans, whether in situations below, equal or superior to our own."2

"True charity is always good and benevolent; it is as much in the act as in the way it is done."3   "...Remember that in God's sight ostentation erases the merit of benevolence. Jesus said: 'Do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.' Therein, He teaches you not to tarnish charity with pride."3

"The maxim - without charity there is no salvation - consecrates the principle of equality before God and the freedom of conscience. By taking this as a norm, all men and women become brothers and sisters, whatever their way of worshipping the Creator, holding up their hands and praying for each other."1

"Spiritism could not better prove its origin than to present it as its rule, because it is a reflection of the most pure Christianity."3

"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as a resounding gong, or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy, understand all the mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. If I give all my belongings to the poor, and my body to be burned, but do not have charity, I gain nothing. Charity is long suffering and kind; charity does not envy; charity does not flaunt itself, nor is prideful. Neither does it behave unseemly, nor is it self-seeking or easily provoked. It thinks no evil, neither does it rejoice in iniquity. Charity rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. And now these three remain: faith, hope, charity. But the greatest of these is charity." (Saint Paul, I Corinthians, 13:1-7 & 13)
